Separate preparation time from delivery time
The seller may need time to prepare a made-to-order item before handing it to the carrier. Tracking usually begins only after dispatch. Add these two periods together when planning, and ask before ordering if a date is important.
The four details to confirm
- Seller preparation estimate
- Carrier or delivery method
- Destination and collection-point eligibility
- Tracking availability for the chosen service
Choose an address the carrier can use
Home delivery may be convenient, while a supported parcel locker or collection point can reduce the need for delivery at home. Availability depends on the carrier, destination and exact service. Enter the recipient details required by that option accurately; an invented name can make collection or redirection impossible.
Home or workplace delivery
Check who may receive parcels and whether a shared entrance, reception or neighbour hand-off suits your privacy needs. Carrier procedures can vary.
Locker or collection point
Confirm that the seller can use the required carrier and that your account is eligible for the collection service. Do this before payment, not after dispatch.
Direct answers to common shipping problems
Will the parcel reveal what I ordered?
The seller should follow the packaging information stated in the listing or order. Neutral outer packaging limits obvious clues, but labels still contain the information required for delivery. Ask about presentation before ordering if this is decisive.
When should tracking appear?
Tracking may appear after the seller has dispatched the parcel and entered the reference. A label can also be created before the carrier performs its first scan, so “information received” is not always proof of physical handover.
Can I change the address after payment?
Ask immediately through the order conversation. A change may be impossible once the parcel is prepared, labelled or handed over. Never post replacement address details publicly.
What if I miss the delivery?
Follow the carrier's current notice or tracking instructions. The parcel may be offered again, redirected or held for collection, depending on the service. Check the deadline so it is not returned.
Is tracked shipping always available?
No. Availability depends on the service selected by the seller and the destination. If tracking is important, confirm it before paying and make sure it appears in the order details.
Who sets the shipping cost?
Use the amount displayed for the current listing and checkout. Costs can vary by seller, carrier, parcel format and destination, so an old example is not a reliable quote.
Can an international order take longer?
Yes. Cross-border transport, carrier handovers and customs processing where applicable can add time. Treat delivery estimates as planning information rather than a guarantee.
What should I do when tracking stops updating?
Check the carrier status and expected window first. Then send one concise platform message with the order reference, dispatch date and last scan. Use the current support route if the stated window passes without resolution.
Neutral packaging has specific limits
Neutral packaging means the outside should not advertise the intimate nature of the contents. It does not mean that sender, recipient, carrier or customs information can always be omitted. Sellers should use a sturdy outer package and provide truthful information required by the delivery service.
What buyers can check
Read the seller's packaging statement, confirm any collection-point requirement and keep delivery details inside checkout or the order conversation.
What sellers should record
Keep the order reference, dispatch date and tracking number when one is supplied. Do not place private customer information in product photos, reviews or unrelated messages.
Ask about the current preparation estimate before buying and choose a suitable tracked option when offered. Express carriage cannot shorten the seller's preparation stage.
Resolve a delay from the order record
Compare the listing estimate, dispatch update and carrier scans. A factual message is more useful than repeated requests: identify the order, the expected milestone and the latest confirmed event. Keep screenshots or notices relevant to the issue without sharing them publicly.
If the parcel is returned, damaged or materially overdue, follow the current marketplace support process. Outcomes depend on the order facts, carrier evidence and applicable terms; neither a refund nor a delivery date should be promised in advance.
