- The item, option, price and dispatch expectation are clear.
- The seller profile and current listing do not contradict each other.
- No one is pressuring you to reveal unrelated data or use an external payment method.
Read the offer as an agreement
Do not assume that a request mentioned in an old review or another listing is included. The current listing and the seller's current reply are what you can assess. Save the item reference and keep the answer in platform chat.
Pause when the signals do not line up
| Signal | Reasonable context | Reason to stop |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | New account with a complete, consistent listing | Identity claims, listing details and messages conflict. |
| Price | A clearly explained promotion in checkout | An unusually low price depends on private payment. |
| Communication | A focused answer about the item | Pressure, harassment or repeated requests for private access. |
| Shipping | A supported method with realistic timing | A demand to use false address or customs information. |
| Payment | The total matches the selected listing and option | A link, transfer, gift card or wallet address arrives in chat. |
Your pre-checkout routine
Confirm the item
Match the title, description, photographs and selected option. Clarify only the detail that changes your decision.
Review the seller context
Use profile completeness, relevant history, reviews and any verification signal together rather than trusting one badge.
Inspect the checkout
Check item, quantity, shipping choice, address and final total before submitting payment.
Keep a usable record
Retain the order number, platform messages and status until the order is complete.
After payment, follow the order rather than the pressure
Use the status shown in your account and allow for the dispatch window stated in the order. A delay is not automatically misconduct, but changing explanations or missing updates may justify a focused question. Do not publish private information while seeking help.
When the parcel arrives, compare it with the listing and recorded option. If something material differs, photograph only what is necessary, preserve packaging or tracking context and describe the discrepancy factually. The problem guide explains how to organise an issue for review.
Protection depends on staying inside the supported path
Marketplace tools can only provide useful context for activity they can connect to the account, listing and order. Off-platform conversations and private transfers fragment that record. They can also expose phone numbers, social profiles or banking details that the product purchase did not require.
Read the current buyer protection terms before relying on a remedy. No guide can promise an outcome. Your strongest position is a clear order, accurate information and concise evidence submitted through the correct support route.
Three decisions that prevent avoidable risk
Should I proceed if the seller wants to use another messenger?
No. Keep order details in platform chat. Decline requests that require personal contact or move the agreement away from the marketplace record.
Does a positive review prove the current listing is accurate?
No. Reviews provide context about earlier experiences. You still need to check the current offer and transaction.
What should I save if there is a problem?
Keep the order number, listing, relevant platform messages, payment status, shipping status and focused evidence of the exact discrepancy.
